Wine secrets of Romania Dobrogea Region Vol II by Elizabeth Gabay – Master of Wine, publisher Winelover Romania - was written by Elizabeth Gabay – Master of Wine, who dedicated time to document, visit, taste the wines and appreciate the gastronomy and hospitality of this historic and special territory.

The Dobrogea region, characterized by the oldest mountains in Romania, together with the magnificent Danube Delta and the vast fields near the Black Sea, is an ideal territory for growing vines. Here, on sunny days, the soil rich in limestone, dry and clayey rock, together with the rare but moderate and warm rains, make the white and red wine varieties develop into exceptional wines. The five sub-regions of Istria-Babadag, Murfatlar, Ostrov, Sarica Niculițel and Adamclisi, all of which have DOC and GI specifications, are recognized for their quality wines. We can enjoy from Dobrogea both Romanian varieties, such as Crâmpoșie, Fetească Regală, Băbeasca Neagra, Fetească Neagră, Mamaia and even Negru de Drăgășani, as well international varieries.
